Tinkering

I've been tinkering a bit with my blog tonight and I'm not sure what to think. It took me quite a few tries to get a 3 column layout out of blogger, but I did with the help of a google search. But now I'm missing the extra width I had (seems like flickr is missing the extra width, too, because now my landscape photos from flickr are getting chopped off). I do like have the extra column to add links and buttons. And it's fun to try on different backgrounds. Hmmm.

I've also realized that my header needs some updating, too. The logo I came up with for myself last year is more my crafty side, yet my heart seems to be pulling me into a more artistic realm. What is the difference between craft and art anyway? It seems like it should be a simple question but its not. Last year I would never have considered myself an artist. But now...

I like it, especially the three column thing. Would any new photos you place on your blog not be chopped off?
:)

I like the three columns. You'll probably have to use a smaller size for your photos so that they don't get chopped off.

As far as considering yourself an artist. It is so neat to watch ourselves grow and blossom and almost become a different person than we were however many years ago. Five years ago I wasn't a seamstress and a little over one year I wasn't an artist. My how things change.

It looks great! :-) But I don't think you should have to make your photos smaller... When I upload my photos they are a lot bigger than in my blog. (And if you click them you can see the uploaded size.) So it should be some code ting. And that is NOT something I am good at, so I can't help you. :-S

I just made a background for my blog! It is simple but I feel so proud everytime I manage to get the code things right. Haha! But then I saw that my header is not in the middle. Annoying!! Hm...

I hope you are having a great friday!! :-D
love where you are headed with it-looks very pleasing and I will be back! -from a fellow flyer!
Hi Jen!

I flew over to say thank you for your comment on my blog. And I love Danny Gokey's song and video. Didn't he perform on American Idol this season?

I haven't tried any neat blog updates recently. I have tried in the past, but got frustrated and gave up. I have the motivation now to give it another try. I am no code geek, so I need a lot of luck! :-)

jen-

hi there and thanks for finding me:)

wow, the difference between craft and art is a tough one. i thought that i would feel less like a crafter and more like an artist after i got a big licensing contract with a big gift company, but i still have days when i feel like i am just a former teacher posing as an artist. i think you just have to say it out loud a lot and believe in yourself. there are SO many people in my life who just brush my art off like it's a hobby, but the ones who take it seriously and cheer me on make up for all that.

ps: i love your logo:)

Hi from a fellow Flying Lessons student. Yes, I also just expanded my blog to 3 columns, and I added a background. The banner hasn't been tackled yet. After I did 3 columns, my middle one wasn't the right width. I can talk you through changing the html code to fix it. email me if you're interested.
